The Group is always looking out for Parents, Aunt’s, Uncles or even Grandparents to help out. This helps the leaders give more support to your children and not have to worry about the little things.
There are lots of different ways in which you can help support the Leaders and Group.
We are a SELF FUNDING GROUP, which means we have to raise every penny ourselves just to keep the doors open. So you could help on Fundraisers or become a member of the Fundraising Committee.
You could also help on a section night as part of a PARENT ROTA. You could even help on OUTINGS, on CAMPS or even GIVE LIFTS TO AND FROM EVENTS. For this all adults will have to go through the CRB process, for the safety of the children, which is renewed every 5 years. Please don’t let this put you off. The CRB is paid for by The Scout Association.
We also have an EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE, which consists of the Group Scout Leader, Chair person, Secretary, Treasurer, Leaders and Parent Representatives for each Section. Everything is reported to this committee and they discuss the way forward on how best to support the leaders, maintenance of the Headquarters, Money matters and general issues that involve the smooth running of the group. They meet on the 4th Tuesday of the Month, 7.30pm at the Scout Hut.
Even if it is only an hour here and there it helps.
